MANUFACTURER ANSWER: Thanks for asking! Although we do not have a 2014 Mac Mini in our labs to test, the resolution will likely be limited to 4K at 60Hz due to some limitations within Mac OSX/macOS in being able to select a 60Hz 4K resolution. We do our best to point this out on our Amazon product listing. Some customers have reports some success using an application called SwitchResX in order to 'unlock' the 60Hz refresh rate, but we cannot guarantee success as a workaround.Thank you,David W.Plugable Technologieswww.plugable.com/support.

I have the latest model MiniMac (almost FOUR YEARS OLD NOW WTF APPLE) hooked up to a 65' Samsung TV and my options in the Displays control pane are 'Default for display' which will let me select 3840x2160@30Hz (30 fps), or 'Scaled' which lets me do 1080p @60Hz. When it comes to the crap I usually watch, frame rate (Hz) beats resolution every time so I go with the second option.Just curious, why does anyone need to 'browse' at 4K? Most of the crap out there is disgusting enough at HD resolution.

(All images courtesy of Apple.) Based on my research, the new Mac mini is a solid machine for video editing, with the ability to configure the system with up to 64GB of RAM, a 6-core Intel i7 desktop-class processor, and a 10Gigabit Ethernet port. Apr 14, 2016 Any chance to run ( Late 2014 ) Mac Mini / 4k / 60Hz? I don't want to play games or movies. But @ 30Hz i better stay away Thank you.
